Regardless of all the good reviews that the film took. i have been waiting for better story. The long running shot along with this swelling soundtrack made this moment of the film so epic and amazing. Got utter chills when this scene came up! Tears almost came. The smile I had on my face on how this film was made. Just wow. I love it. As much as I love Joker, 1917 is definitely one of my faves of 2019! This soundtrack is gold.

Saw it yesterday - quite simply the most spectacular war film of all time. The CGI looks much better on the BIG SCREEN... 1917 is very different to other war films like the Longest Day as the film focuses on two Lance Corporals who are given the impossinle mission to deliever a message to another regiment to ensure the safety of the regiment. 1917 makes the war feel a lot more personal as the whole film is shot stunnigly to make it look like one whole shot throughout the whole movie. You can really see the devastation of the war and how it effects different soldiers.
Only negtative with the film is it lacks some of the action that soldiers would of have seen in the mission and the plot feels a bit rushed in the second act.
But Sam Mendes directed this so well, Roger Deakins did such a great job with cinematography and the cast was so good especially George Mckay. Please watch this film it's so worth it.
